CV Applicant e-mail defaulting to old e-mail address

Modified on Tue, 12 Aug, 2025 at 11:52 AM

If any candidate reports an issue where there's a mismatch between the email on their candidate profile and the one on their application, we should always sync the candidate profile email to match the email on the application.

We should not update the application email to match what's in the candidate profile.

REASON:

Initially, when a candidate profile is created, the email on the candidate profile, the application they create, and the username they use to log in are all the same. So, we should always aim to maintain this original alignment and ensure the emails remain synced in that direction.

For accounts that are already experiencing this issue—where, by mistake, the candidate profile email differs from the application email—we can update the candidate profile email from the backend. This will reflect the correct email on the candidate's profile.

However, if the application email itself needs to be changed, please reach out to PS directly. PS will provide a workaround in such special cases.

STEPS:

  • Confirm the candidate profile e-mail address.
  • Confirm the e-mail address on the application.
  • Confirm the organisation/portfolio the job is under.
  • Confirm the exact job title (to view the job requisition on Springboard).
  • Login to the back end and check:
    • Profile e-mail address
    • Application e-mail address.
    • IF the profile email is correct and application email address is incorrect
      • Raise a ticket with Peoplescout
    • IF the profile is incorrect and application e-mail address is correct
      • Update the profile e-mail address on the back end on Springboard and save.
